![]() In my case originally all 3 controllers were on the same channel, and some sent conflicting CC values. Setup your controllers: the mapping works simply by listening for CC values on different channels. That gives SFTP access to the filesystem and the internal SD card.Ģ. I just wanted to share this guy's work for those who don't know anything about it, and a bit about what I did to get my controllers working and how the mapping works with multiple controllers.įlash his SSH enabled firmware, then connect the MPC to the network. Thanks to this guy TheKikGen, we can place our custom mapping right into the MPC's filesystem and it reads it and loads it perfectly fine. From a business view I get why they didn't let us do it. I think I know why, it's because the MPC X has a lot of functions not present on the Live/One, and with global MIDI learn and a super cheap qlink bank or button bank you can add some of it's functionality cheaper than getting an MPC X. AKAI just never gave us any interface to map those controls. And my disappointment to find out it didn't work even had me considering using controller mode full time, which I didn't want to do.īut now I discovered someone has been working on hacks for the MPCs firmware and they found out global MIDI learn is built right into the standalone software and works. There's a ton of videos that implied it just works the same. I already posted about this lack of functionality which nobody seems to mention anywhere, even on youtube. I could map them to qlinks, but then I lose access to what I already had mapped there. ![]() ![]() So it's pretty important to be able to control the filter and LFO amounts on the knobs. I use keygroups as a basic synth and feed it custom single-cycle waveforms. ![]() I can only map basic parameters of my tracks so I could get the nanokontrol 2 working at least, but that's it. At the end of it I'd have a pretty decent and fluidly controlled setup.Įxcept, if global MIDI learn on standalone was actually a thing. I wanted to map the 16 qlinks to my Arturia Beatstep's 16 knobs, map my project's tracks to my nanokontrol 2's faders and knobs, and then map a bunch of other things to my Arturia Minilab MKII which also has another 16 knobs. I picked up a MIDI controller or 3 with the intention to map everything to stuff inside my MPC Live. ![]()
